CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Since the French had the great idea to cross pollinate the Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon Blanc vines some 400 years ago, Cabernet Sauvignon has been considered the noblest of red wines. The vines produce very small, thick-skinned grapes resulting in very intense flavorings. Depending on soil conditions, climate, surrounding terrain and vegetation, the flavors run the gamut from cassis, cherry, blackberry and currant, to tobacco, coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. You'll find most of our Cabernets are from the Sonoma and Napa valleys of northern California where the climate and soil conditions are nearly perfect for growing this grape. We have tried to assemble a nice cross section with an emphasis on the great Cabernet fruit which works so wonderfully with our grilled foods.
